GENERAL DESCRIPTION 

The Tuskegee NEXT Foundation is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Aviation Program (SAP) Intern to support the planning, development, and execution of key programming initiatives for the organization. The selected intern will assist in supporting the Summer Aviation Program Director and staff. This role helps ensure that Tuskegee NEXT cadets receive the support and resources they need in a secure, positive, and mission-focused environment. 

 

The ideal candidate is eager to learn, adaptable, and passionate about contributing to meaningful youth development and aerospace-focused programs. This internship provides hands-on experience in program management, event coordination, communication, and nonprofit operations. 

 

As an SAP Intern, you will help support the development and implementation of various organizational programs. Responsibilities may include contributing to program research, assisting with planning tasks, preparing program materials, tracking program metrics, and helping evaluate program success. You may also assist in areas such as staffing coordination, reporting, communications, or alumni engagement. 

 

The SAP Intern will work closely with the Program Director, volunteers, cadets, alumni, and other team members. Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask and collaborate effectively are essential.

The Tuskegee NEXT Foundation is seeking a Summer Intern from May through August who can support the Program Director during our Summer Aviation Program (SAP). The (SAP) Intern will assist our Tuskegee NEXT staff and cadets during the various program activities and will help support a safe, healthy, and positive environment that is consistent with the Tuskegee NEXT Foundation’s mission and culture. Salary is commensurate with the applicant’s experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

• High school diploma or GED required   

• 21+ years of age   

• Clean driving record   

• Capable of driving a 12-passenger van   

• 2 + years of prior experience working with youth   

• Ability to communicate effectively   

• Attention to detail   

• Responsible and proactive   

• Solution-oriented   

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:    

• Assisting Program Director in planning and executing daily tasks  

• Assist & monitor and enforce all protocol outlined in the Tuskegee NEXT handbook and manual    

• Work closely and effectively with the Tuskegee NEXT 2026 cadets & alumni  

• Assist in day-to-day administrative duties   

• Assist with organizing corporate visits, special events & outings    

• Capture and collect pictures of the cadets throughout the program for social media     

• Assist in collecting and administer all additional paperwork for the Program Director    

• Lead cadet study hall & provide one-on-one tutoring opportunities for cadet  

• Provide support in setting up/cleaning up after events and programs  

• Provide own transportation to job location (car owner) 

• Must be willing to submit a background screening through National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI) and   

receive an “approval” from NCSI. (NCSI screening is good for two years)
