Residential Supervisor (Summer Program)

Reports To: Program Director
Location: Western Suburbs of Chicago (residential position)
Employment Type: Seasonal, Full-Time (Residential; live on-site overnight, June 5 – August 9, 2026)
Compensation: $9,000 stipend for the full program duration (housing and meals provided)
Summary
The Tuskegee NEXT Foundation is seeking responsible and enthusiastic Residential Supervisors to support cadets during the Summer Aviation Program. Residential Supervisors ensure the safety and well-being of participants while fostering a positive and growth-oriented environment. This role requires flexibility, professionalism, strong organization, and a passion for youth development. Supervisors will live on-site in the western suburbs of Chicago and must be available to accommodate the program’s dynamic daily schedule.

Key Responsibilities
Transport cadets to and from scheduled program activities using a 12-passenger van
Complete accurate attendance logs, daily reports, and expense reports
Participate in weekly staff meetings every Monday
Manage curfews, room checks, and mealtime coordination
Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor and foster a supportive, positive environment for cadets
Be highly organized, time-structured, detailed, and able to adapt to shifting schedules
During flight training hours, supervisors will have personal time for rest or personal tasks, but must remain near the program site one hour prior to scheduled pick-up, accounting for traffic
Qualifications
Must be at least 25 years old by June 5, 2026
High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred
At least one year of experience working with youth or in a residential program
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to safely drive a 12-passenger van
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Strong sense of professionalism, empathy, accountability, and flexibility
Must pass a background screening through the National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI)
CPR and First Aid certification preferred

Residential, full-time role (housing and meals provided)
Evening and weekend responsibilities required
Flexibility is essential, supervisors must adjust to program needs and change of schedules
Work includes both indoor and outdoor activities in varying weather conditions
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and remain active throughout the day
