“As the first aspiring aviator in my family, Tuskegee NEXT provides answers to many of the questions I've had and offers a path toward reaching the skies.”

About Me:
Hello! My name is Ousmane Bah, and I am a rising sophomore at Middle Georgia State University where I study Aviation Science and Management with a concentration in Flight. I am a very motivated and positive person who believes that anything is possible when you give your all, work hard, and push through adversity.

Some of my interests include playing basketball, learning new languages and cultures, hiking, and exploring mountainous regions. I also love traveling and experiencing new places.

Why are you passionate about aviation?
I am passionate about aviation because it’s an exciting field and diverse industry. I love how aviation connects people, cultures, and opportunities, and I believe it is the key to experiencing the world in its fullest form. Other than flying, aviation has many career paths and ways to make an impact.

Why did you choose to apply to Tuskegee NEXT and how did you hear about the program?
I chose to apply to Tuskegee NEXT to honor and contribute to the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen. Their courage and achievements changed aviation forever. Their impact opened doors for future generations like me. Being part of this program that carries their legacy forward is meaningful.
I first learned about Tuskegee NEXT through the OBAP Chapter at Middle Georgia State University. I also connected with several Tuskegee NEXT alumni on campus, and their kindness, guidance, and willingness to help made a strong impression on me. Seeing how much the program shaped their lives confirmed that this is a community I want to be a part of.

What are your future aviation aspirations?
In the future, I aspire to become an airline pilot for Air France and eventually open a seaplane charter business. I am also passionate about improving aviation in developing countries, especially my parents’ home country of Guinea, whether through expanding aircraft access, enhancing airport facilities, or supporting aviation education.

Fun Fact:
My favorite movie of all time is The Karate Kid (2010). I think this film played a big role in shaping my mindset and motivating me to stay disciplined and driven. I’ve also traveled to four out of the seven continents so far and I’m determined to reach them all!
