“The Tuskegee NEXT program provides an incredible opportunity to earn my Private Pilot License, the first step toward my dream career. As part of a program that promotes representation in aviation, I am taking a major step toward my goal of becoming an airline pilot”

About Me:
I'm a second-year Aviation Engineering student at The Ohio State University from Cleveland, Ohio. I am a firm believer that with putting God first and giving your maximum effort, anything is possible. My hobbies include playing basketball, hanging out with friends, going to see movies with my girlfriend, and working out.

Why are you passionate about aviation?
My passion for aviation comes from my aunt, who is a flight attendant at Delta. Seeing her build such a successful career in aviation and hearing her talk about the small number of pilots who look like me inspired me to break the standard, break barriers, and pursue a career as a Pilot. Since then, I have been driven not only to achieve my dream of being an airline pilot but to create opportunities for the next generation of pilots who share similar backgrounds.

Why did you choose to apply to Tuskegee NEXT and how did you hear about the program?
I chose to apply to Tuskegee NEXT to honor the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen.

The Tuskegee NEXT program provides an incredible opportunity to earn my Private Pilot License, the first step toward my dream career. As part of a program that promotes representation in aviation, I am taking a major step toward my goal of becoming an airline pilot while continuing the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen who paved the way for me.

Just as the Tuskegee Airmen inspired future generations like myself, I want to use my experiences to encourage and mentor the next generation of aviators and help make aviation more accessible to minority communities.

What are your future aviation aspirations?
My future aviation aspirations are to become an airline pilot for Delta or United. Later in my career, I want to create my own private aviation charter company.

Ultimately, after achieving these goals, I want to give back by making aviation more accessible to underrepresented minorities, just as the Tuskegee Next program helped me.

Fun Fact:
I can speak a little bit of Tigrinya, and my favorite show of all time is Avatar: The Last Airbender.
